I have been working this past week to create a new web page for our company. Somehow I corrupted the files on my computer in Frontpage for our site. As a result I have not been able to make changes to the site in about a year. Lucky for me that my brother-in-law had a back up on his system and was at least able to keep the site up and running all this time. So with all of the snow we have had, I had time to be in the office for long periods of time to work on the new site. Most of the content is the same, but I added some vendors and venues along with new photos from 2010 events. I have some ideas for some new pages and hope to get a gallery of our inventory going. It is amazing to me the amount of time I spend on social media trying to promote our business. Of course during the busy summer months I find this to the bottom of my list of things to do. Anyone who reads this blog can see from the lack of posts how busy I get!
Now that the new site is almost done, and should be live in a few days. Keep watch for it!
I decide to do a google search today and see if we came up. I did a search of our name with KY in the photo section of google and found us in a few locations. I was surprised to see one of our photos in another blog. After clicking into the blog I remembered the blogger had e-mailed me last year in May regarding how to do ceiling drapes. She asked me to do a blog about it so she could link to it. Well, May being the wedding month that it is, I just gave her some information so she could work on her own blog entry. I was happy to see that she quoted me along with some other decorators and gave credit to all the photos she used from Flickr. Here is the entry she wrote. http://www.weddingdecoratorblog.com/2010/05/decorating-the-ceiling-with-fabric/

Billy and Robyn 11/7/10
For Billy and Robyn's reception we turned the high school cafeteria into a great reception hall. The wedding colors were white, orange and a touch of black. The ceiling was draped in orange taffeta fabric and white twinkle lights. A backdrop of white fabric and lights was put up behind the head table to block off the hall way into the school. Seating tables with white linens and black chair ties. Table center pieces of black metal lanterns with tea lights.
Shanna & Jonathan 8/14/10
I had the pleasure of helping my friend Stephanie with the reception for her daugher and new son-in-law. A barn on the family farm was cleaned and pressure washed to serve as the venue for the reception. The beams of the barn were wrapped with twinkle lights. Paper lanterns in pink, black and white were hung down the center of the barn over the head table and dance floor.
Stephanie and Shanna added lots of unexpected details to the decor. Be sure to check out our facebook page to see more of this awsome barn reception!

Janelle and Corey 8/7/10
At our first meeting I discovered that the planner for this wedding was an old friend of mine from Elementary school, Tasha Mirilovich. Tasha was a family friend of the Bride Janelle and her parents. The wedding and reception took place at the home of the bride. We worried all summer that the weather would be hot in August but the day of the wedding was the most gorgeous day! The ceremony took place on a stage with a white fabric draped canopy. The guests were seated in white wood chairs set in a circle around the stage. Despite having a broken leg operated on 3 days before the wedding, the father of the bride escorted his daughter to the stage. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails by the pool and then proceeded to the tent for dinner and dancing.
Seating under the 40x100 high peak century tent for 270 guests at round tables of ten seats each, head table squared around one end of the dance floor for 20, large 16x20 stage for the live band and a 18x24 dance floor. Two buffet lines and 2 full bars were located in two 20x20 frame tents to the back side of the large tent. Black table cloths with pops of pink and fuchsia for color. Pink and black metal luminaries lined the walkway from the pool to the tent. The tent entrance included tree branch lights and pink drapes for added affect to the bride and groom entrance.
Please check out additional photos from this wedding on our facebook page for Events with Design. Be sure to become a fan and check back often for view of our events.

Lexington Bridal Show - January 2010

We were recently a vendor at the January Lexington Bridal show along with about 90 other local vendors. It was held at the Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike. We shared a booth with Seasons Catering, so in addition to our rental items and ceiling decor we had 4 large ice sculptures from Chief Michael Stoddart. We had a chance to talk with many of the 579 Brides and their families about their upcoming wedding plans.
Visit lexingtonbridalshows.com for information on other shows this year. We are planning to be back next January.
